About Dr Greta

Dr Margarethe Sears, known to many patients as Dr Greta, has lived in the Sutherland Shire for 15 years.

After completing a medical degree at the Medical University of Vienna in 2011, a move to Australia followed. A strong connection to Austrian heritage remains, alongside deep appreciation for life in the Shire.

Work has included metropolitan and rural hospitals and general practices across New South Wales and Queensland.

Before entering general practice, extensive experience was gained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at The Sutherland Hospital, St George Hospital and Liverpool Hospital. Qualifications include the DRANZCOG and Antenatal Shared Care accreditation with The Sutherland Hospital.

A Certificate in Vulval Dermatology supports a particular interest in vulval and gynaecological skin conditions.

Continuity of care is one of the most valued aspects of general practice. Supporting patients through pregnancy, early childhood, adolescence and midlife is a privilege. Long-term relationships with individuals and families are central to this work.

Outside medicine, time is spent enjoying Pilates, the outdoors and life with my husband and three children.

Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP)
Diploma of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRANZCOG)
